Mei-Lyn Bautista '15

During her time at St. Mary's High School, Mei-Lyn was a dedicated student and a standout player for the Lady Gaels Basketball team that won back-to-back Nassau Suffolk Catholic High School Girls Athletic Association titles and played in the state semifinals in 2014 and 2015. During her senior year, Mei-Lyn volunteered as an athlete mentor, educating local elementary school athletes on the importance of academics while participating in sports.

After graduating from St. Mary's, Mei-Lyn attended George Washington University on a full athletic scholarship. She played all four years on the women's basketball team and graduated in 2019 with a marketing degree. She excelled on and off the court at GW and was named a 2017 Arthur Ashe Jr. Scholar-Athlete and made the GW Athletics Academic Dean's List. She also served as a member of the SAAC Leadership Academy.

Upon graduation from GW, she played professionally for the Philippines' women's national team and in Taiwan for the Williams Jones Cup. While in the Philippines, she created The Annual Bautista Basketball Day, a free basketball clinic that uses the game to teach underprivileged students the importance of school.

After concluding her professional basketball career, Mei-Lyn earned a Master's in Professional Studies at St. John's University and served as a Graduate Assistant for the women's basketball team. Mei-Lyn then started her career in sports with Madison Square Garden, leading the New York Knicks' Youth Engagement sector, in charge of all Jr. Knicks programming, providing youth across the tri-state area with equal opportunity to play, love, and grow in the sport of basketball.

Mei-Lyn is currently enrolled in the University of Mount Saint Vincent's accelerated nursing program, expecting to graduate with her BSN in August of 2026 and pursue a new career as a registered nurse.
